Heraklion Fortress

It is impossible to miss. It dominates the port of Heraklion.

A symbol of the Venetian and then Ottoman presence on the island, the fortress is sometimes used as a place of exhibition as well as a gallery nowadays, in addition to being a perfect attraction for us tourists.

Guns and cannonballs found in the Heraklion harbour basin are on display.

The view of the port is breathtaking.

The entrance is not very expensive (a few euros), and the visit is interesting because this place is full of history. But let's be honest, there's not much to see or do.
