Montbrun-les-bains

A charming village nestled on a hill.

To finish our Ardéchoise escapade, and to avoid immediately hitting the road again after our two busy days, we decided to spend a night in a gîte in the village of Montbrun-les-bains to rest.

Known primarily for being one of the most beautiful villages in France, Montbrun-les-bains is nestled not far from the no less famous Mont Ventoux, whose ascent by bicycle has given many a cyclist a hard time. The village is also famous for its health resort.

Note for those who wish to access the village other than by foot, it will be very complicated, if not impossible. The streets are mostly pedestrian. We choose to leave our car below on a small parking lot, not far from a supermarket.

After having taken possession of our room, we decide to go to relax our legs by going to stroll in the alleys. And... I might as well warn you, you have to like slopes or stairs. No street escapes the rule.

As for the meal, we chose a pizzeria, where I discovered a surprising recipe, but so good: a combination of diced ham, muscatel, and beaufort cheese on a home-made dough topped with fresh cream. So good that I ordered a second one right away (I'm a gourmet at heart).

To synthesize, we didn't really have a goal this time and our passage in this village was very brief, but intense enough to change our mind for an evening and a night. We left at dawn, with a lot of memories that we will keep associated with the Ardèche.

For my part, I hope that these few articles will have given you the desire to visit this region as well.
